PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector structured so that a connector body can be smoothly engaged with a counterpart connector by dividing it into a plurality of connectors. SOLUTION: In this electric connector 1 equipped with the connector body having a plug portion 3a in its front, a mounting base portion 3c in its back, and a contact terminal mounted in its inside, and a holding frame 12 having housing frames 15A-15C in which the connector body is housed, the connector body is divided into a plurality of sub-connectors 2A-2C, each housing frame 15A-15B of the holding frame 12 is sized so as to produce a gap between the peripheral surface and itself, and the mounting base portion of the sub-connector is loosely engaged with the housing frame to make the plug portion free to swing.
