PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveform alignment method capable of estimating a position displacement amount highly accurately to a waveform including a noise, and detecting even a position displacement amount below a sampling interval, in waveform alignment. SOLUTION: In this waveform alignment method having a phase adjustment means for performing phase adjustment by the phase of a waveform signal, the phase adjustment means extracts a phase signal by performing discrete Fourier transform of each input waveform signal and reference waveform signal, calculates a phase restricting correlation function by performing inverse discrete Fourier transform of an acquired phase difference signal, and detects the position displacement amount between waveforms.
