The method involves connecting a gate of a network analyzer with a gate (ZF) of a frequency conversion circuit. The two gates (HF, ZF) of the frequency conversion circuit are stimulated to one another for obtaining raw measured values. Waves converging to the gate (HF) of the circuit and the waves returning from the gate (HF) of the circuit and the waves converging to the gate (ZF) of the circuit and the waves returning from the gate (ZF) of the circuit are phase coherently measured even in the case of different frequencies. An independent claim is also included for a measuring device for measuring scattering parameters of a frequency conversion circuit.
