A backlight assembly and a display apparatus having the same are provided to form a guide part which can divide arrangement spaces between lamps in the side of a light guide plate adjacent to a lamp unit, thereby preventing faults caused by a decrease of a separate space between the lamps. A backlight assembly(100) comprises the followings: a lamp unit(200) which includes plural lamps(210,220) supplying light; a light guide plate(300) which is arranged adjacently to the lamp unit and guides the light supplied from the lamp unit; a receiving container(500) which receives the lamp unit and the light guide plate; and a guide part(306) which divides the arrangement space of the lamp units in the side of the light guide plate which receives an incident light. The light guide plate includes a first surface facing the bottom surface of the receiving container, and a second surface opposing the first surface. |
