A selection section (101) selects a road from a map displayed on a display screen. Then, an instruction section (102) instructs scrolling to a position that is along the road selected by the selection section (101), outside the display screen. After that, the display section (103) scrolls a map including that position outside the display screen which is instructed by the instruction section (102) and displays it, where the scrolling is made along the road selected by the selection section (101). Thus a map can be scrolled to an ahead lying part of the road without repeating scroll operation in a fixed direction.
