<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell in which the output of a power generating cell at the most downstream is not affected by impurity gas accumulated in a fuel supply space. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel supply space is formed by connecting in parallel fuel passages 32, and a buffer passage 42 having nearly equal volume to the supply space is provided at the downstream side. Hydrogen gas supplied from the entrance 24 of the fuel passages branches from a main passage 44 on supply side and is supplied to the fuel passages 32 of each stage and is introduced to the buffer passage 42 by merging at a main passage 45 on exhaust side. Nitrogen gas of one atmospheric pressure is filled in the fuel space and the fuel cell stack 20A is stored. At the start of power generation, hydrogen gas of two atmospheric pressure is supplied from the entrance 24 of the fuel passage, and then the nitrogen gas in the fuel supply space is moved to the buffer passage 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
