PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crankshaft which is manufactured with an induction hardening method and is superior in seizure resistance. SOLUTION: The crankshaft comprises, by mass%, 0.3-0.6% C, 0.15% or less Si, more than 1.0% but 2.0% or less Mn, 0.020% or less P, 0.005-0.30% S, 0.05-0.85% Cr, 0.050% or less Al, 0.020% or less N, and the balance Fe with impurities; has a heat conductivity of 40 W/mK or higher; and such a surface hardness Hv after having been induction-hardened as to satisfy the expression of Hv>2.7×κ+420, whereinκrepresents heat conductivity (W/mK).
