PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus, allowing a user to align a nut runner with a fastener in the state where the user is away from the fastener at a certain distance. SOLUTION: An alignment device for aligning the nut runner with the fastener includes: a main body; a threaded cap; a magnet; and a light source. While the magnet and the cap are received at one end of the main body, the light source is projected from the opposite end of the main body. The cap has the fastener-shaped end removably received by a socket of the nut runner. The light source illuminates a spot where alignment with the axis of the nut runner is performed, whereby when the axis of the nut runner is aligned with the fastener to be tightened, a user can make a decision.
