PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating crops encouraging powerful generation and growth of trunk roots of the crops to stably maintain above-ground parts of the crops for a long time and stably activate growth of stems and leaves, and enlargement and ripeness of fruits. SOLUTION: The method for cultivating crops comprises the following process: partly or entirely embedding a biodegradable resin sheet 1 with which soil or culture soil 2 is wrapped so as to prevent invasion of rainwater, under upland field soil (cultivated soil) 4; vegetating a cultivation crop 3 in the soil or the culture soil 2 in the biodegradable resin sheet 1 so as to separate the root area of the cultivation crop 3 from the upland field soil (cultivated soil) 4 via the biodegradable resin sheet 1; controlling a moisture content in the soil or the culture soil 2 at the beginning of fix planting to be at pF2.0-2.5; and making the stem base part 3b of the cultivation crop 3 outbreak a thick trunk root 3c.
