A semi-transmitting VA(Vertical Alignment) mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device is provided to install a lower color filter layer in the transmission area of a lower substrate, thereby recovering a color reproduction difference in a reflection area and the transmission area by making color filter layer transmitting paths be the same in the reflection area and the transmission area. A semi-transmitting VA(Vertical Alignment) mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device(100) comprises the followings: an upper substrate(121) where an upper color filter layer(122) and a common electrode(123) are equipped on an upper glass substrate; a lower substrate(110) which is spacedly opposite to the upper substrate and where a reflection area(A) and a transmission area(B) are formed, and a lower color filter layer(112) is equipped so that the thickness difference of a cell gap can be generated in the reflection area and the transmission area, and a reflection plate(113) is equipped on the lower color filter layer of the reflection area out of the lower color filter layer, and a transmission electrode(114) is equipped on the lower color filter layer of the transmission area. |
