<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately set various types of compensating torque gains without requiring time. <P>SOLUTION: While a car 8 is moved to the lowermost floor with no load inside the car 8, a torque command value detection device 14 detects a torque command value Tm_1, and outputs this value to a load compensating torque gain computing device 15. With the car 8 moved to the uppermost floor, the torque command value detection device 14 detects a torque command value Tm_2, and outputs this value to the load compensating torque gain computing device 15. The load compensating torque gain computing device 15 inputs a load value Wn indicated by a signal from a load detection device 11.
