PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause service contents associated with a network service having individual functions to be distributed according to the kind or installed status of a home information appliance.

SOLUTION: An information providing system S includes: a client terminal 10 capable of obtaining and sending predetermined management information about a home information appliance HE installed in a user's house; a server device 20 connected to the client terminal 10 by the Internet; a first input terminal 30 for uploading service content for the home information appliance to the server device 20; a second input terminal 40 for uploading home appliance property information; and a third input terminal 50 for uploading service content about a network service having individual functions and a corresponding external module. The server device 20 is provided with a content database for storing the service content and a content providing engine for providing the service content to the client terminal 10.
