<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a liquid crystal display that is superior in visibility in the outdoor and indoor, and having a wide viewing angle and display quality, by improving the display uneveness due to finger pushing or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display comprises an array substrate 101, a counter substrate 102, and a liquid crystal layer 190 sandwiched between the substrates. The array substrate 101 includes a pixel electrode 151, comprising an optical transmission electrode part 151A and an optical reflection electrode part 151B designating a mutually adjacent transmission display region A and the reflection display region B. The counter substrate 102 includes a counter electrode 23 facing the pixel electrode 151, an insulation layer 21 for differentiating the thickness of a liquid crystal layer 190 in the reflection display region B with respect to the thickness of the liquid crystal layer 190 in the transmission display region A, and a tilt control part 22 for tilting the electric field generated in the liquid crystal layer 190 by a drive voltage that is applied between the electrode. The tilt control part 22 includes a plurality of projection structure 22A, arranged on a part of the counter electrode 23 making an insulation layer 21 as a substrate in the reflection display region B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
