<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a storage type water heater in which high-temperature hot water supply is continued when high-temperature abnormality is caused by failure of a mixing valve during hot water supply. <P>SOLUTION: This water heater comprises a circulation circuit 4 cyclically connecting a lower part and an upper part of a hot water storage tank 2 and including a circulation pump 5; a heating means 3 provided in the middle of the circulation circuit 4; a mixing valve 9 mixing hot water from a hot water supply pipe 7 with water from a water supply bypass pipe 8 at a hot water supply set temperature; and a hot water supply temperature sensor 11 detecting a temperature of hot water mixed by the mixing valve 9. When high-temperature abnormality in which the hot water supply temperature detected by the sensor 11 is higher than the hot water supply set temperature is detected, occurrence of high-temperature abnormality is announced by a remote controller 14, and the circulation pump 5 is further driven while the heating means 3 is stopped, whereby water supplied to the lower part of the tank 2 is mixed with high-temperature water in the upper part thereof to reduce the hot water storage temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
