PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To introduce tool discrimination information to a gas meter, without having to depend on the detection of the gas flow rate of gas equipment. SOLUTION: The gas meter 1 at least comprises a gas measuring section 8, a communication terminal section 10, and a memory section 11. Tool discrimination information is introduced to the gas meter 1, in advance, via the communication terminal 10 by using terminal equipment 9, or the like, when the gas equipment, is installed or renewed thus discriminating the connected gas equipment and hence constructing a gas meter system capable of easily discriminating the gas equipment.
