PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target position aligning device and target position aligning method for extremely preventing performance degradation as a target position aligning device by reducing the influence of external force or air force received on a surface of a turret body during flight of an airplane. SOLUTION: The target position aligning device 10 comprises a turret 12 that stores optical equipment inside and receives infrared light a1 radiated from a target side, an infrared imaging apparatus 13 disposed separately from a turret that receives the infrared light a1 guided out via the optical equipment 24 of the turret 12 and generates an image data signal a2, an image processor 14 that receives the image data signal a2 and generates a corrective data signal a3 for correcting the positional data of the target T included in the image data signal a2, and a turret driving device 19 that receives the corrective data signal a3, generates corrective signals a41 and a42 for correcting the direction of the turret 12, outputs it to the turret 12 side, and corrects the direction of the turret 12.
