PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display evaluation method and an evaluator for faithfully reproducing the appearance of varying color of a displayed image as to color variation in a liquid display, etc. that depends on view angles. SOLUTION: In this display evaluation method, relations between an input signal and color measurement values of a display 1 are acquired at respective view angles. Tristimulus values are found of a front image and of a view angle image of the display 1. White tristimulus values are acquired of the display 1 and of its peripheral area. White tristimulus values are acquired of a display medium 16 and of its peripheral area. From such information, chromatic adaptation correction and contrast correction are performed on the tristimulus values of respective images.
