PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure visibility of an object image that a user needs and also to prevent service life of a battery from being shortened. SOLUTION: Through image display processing is carried out and a through image is displayed on a liquid crystal monitor (step S7). It is then decided whether focusing is detected by multi-AF processing started in step S6 (step S8). Namely, it is decided whether the peak of AF evaluation values is detected in any of a plurality of regions by multi-AF processing. When the peak of AF evaluation values is detected, processing is advanced from step S8 to step S9, the through image is displayed, and a focusing frame is moved to the region where focusing is detected (the region where the peak of AF evaluation values is detected) in step S8, and displayed.
