PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corrosion inhibitor free from harmful hydrazine for an environment-conscious boiler in a boiler system including not only a main body of a boiler but also a water system for a boiler such as a deaerator, a water supply pipe, a feed pump, a feed water pre-heater, and an economizer; and a method for inhibiting the corrosion of the boiler. SOLUTION: The corrosion inhibitor for the boiler includes (A) a terminal-modified polyacrylic acid with a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 3,000 and (B) an N-alkylated hydroxyl amine, as effective ingredients. The method for inhibiting the corrosion of the boiler includes adding (A) the terminal-modified polyacrylic acid with the weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 3,000 and (B) the N-alkylated hydroxyl amine in combination, to the water system of the boiler system.
