PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high grade organic pigment fine powder in a short time at a low cost with low energy consumption in contrast with conventional method comprising the kneading over a long period by a solvent salt milling method. SOLUTION: The organic pigment fine powder is produced by a solvent salt milling method to knead a mixture of a crude organic pigment, a grinding auxiliary agent and a water-soluble organic solvent. The grinding auxiliary agent used in the above production method is sodium chloride having a median particle diameter (D50) of 1-50μm by volume basis, a 95% particle diameter (D95) of≤80μm, and a differential angle of 9.0-20.0°.
