PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail cutter capable of efficiently and simply working without leaving an uncut part. SOLUTION: The rail cutter includes a holding rod 1, a handle 3 and rail cutting parts 2a and 2b. The handle 3 is provided to protrude upward from an upper part of a tip of the holding rod 1. The rail cutting parts 2a and 2b are provided to protrude downward from a lower part of the tip of the rod 1. The cutter has a pair of edges 12a and 12b extending wide in a longitudinal direction of a rail and facing each other across a distance over the rail L and a mount T on a lower frame base plate U. The pair of edges 12a and 12b are characterized by that one of side ends J in the longitudinal direction of the rail of the edge 12a facing the indoor side when horizontally rotated comes into contact with a front face P on the outdoor side of the rail L and that the other end W in the longitudinal direction of the rail of the edge 12b facing the outdoor side comes into contact with a front face Q on the indoor side of the rail L.
