PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which can provide various information by sound thorough a speaker without increasing the weight of a control member at an end of a hose, and is user-friendly. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner comprises a vacuum cleaner body 1 having a built-in electric blower 2 causing suction air, and the inside of the vacuum cleaner 1 is provided with a speaker 8 emitting sound and a speaker chamber 9 containing the speaker 8, and the speaker 8 is disposed at a position is isolated from the electric blower 2 by the speaker chamber 9. Then, the increase in weight of a control portion at the end of a hose is avoided, and the speaker 8 has a long service life because using environment is less affected by heat or fine dust by air exhaust from the electric blower 2, and various information can be provided by the sound through the reliable speaker 8 and the user-friendly vacuum cleaner can be provided.
