A reciprocating compressor is provided to minimize vibration of a compressing body from being transmitted to a casing by controlling elastic members forming a driving power direction support unit, and reduce the size of the casing by removing a space between the casing and the compressing body by mounting the compressing body to slidably contact with the inside of the casing. A reciprocating compressor includes a casing(110). A compressing body(CB) sucks in, compresses, and discharges gas by straight line reciprocating driving power of a driving motor(140). A driving direction support unit is mounted between the casing and the compressing body to be placed in a driving power direction of the driving motor elastically to support the compressing body. A pipe unit guides suction of the gas to the compressing body and guides gas discharged from the compressing body to the outside.
