<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can suppress the temperature rise in the non-paper passing areas on a pair of fixing rollers when transferring small size sheets and stabilize the transfer of large size sheets. <P>SOLUTION: Three fans 26a-26b are provided over the whole transfer width of a transfer unit 25 and the fans 26a-26c are controlled depending on the size and number of the sheets to transfer. Representing the predetermined size paper passing width smaller than the maximum paper passing width W by W1, when transferring paper wider than the width W1, the first, second, and third fans 26a-26c are all turned on to attract the whole paper to the transfer unit 25 in order to stabilize the transfer. On the other hand, when transferring paper of the width W1 or narrower, only the first fan 26a and the third fan 26c are turned on not to raise the temperature at the non-paper passing areas 30a, 30b at both ends of the fixing roller pair 14a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
