<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball which has an appropriate spin rate and realizes the good feeling of hitting a ball. <P>SOLUTION: In a golf ball 10 which consists of a core 12 and a cover 11, the core has a fluid 18 of the center of the ball and a first solid non-wound mantle layer which wraps this fluid. This first mantle layer 22 is composed of a copolymer or terpolymer of ethylene and anα,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid. This acid is neutralized at least 80% by a salt of an organic acid, a cation source, or a suitable base of the organic acid. However, the cover has a polyurethane, polyurea, or polyurea/polyurethane hybrid. Optimally, the spin damping factor is at least 10% of an initial spin rate of the golf ball over the entire ball flight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
