摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator core of a rotating electric machine capable of inhibiting generation of the difference in a laminated thickness on a butt portion and of improving magnetic circuit characteristics and quality, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The long side length of each core piece 6 is half of that of a core ASSY 9. The long sides of the core pieces are matched in the widthwise direction of a rolled sheet steel to be punched at the predetermined pitch in the short side direction. Next, the core pieces 6 are matched in the punched direction and laminated in thickness half of the laminated thickness of the core ASSY 9 to create two first divided laminated cores 7A and two second divided laminated cores 7B. The punched direction of the core pieces 6 is inverted by reversing the second divided laminated cores 7B to be laminated on the first divided laminated cores 7A, thereby creating two sub-cores ASSY 8.
