PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cracking of a plated film when carrying out caulking fixing of a thrust plate to a bearing sleeve plated for wear resistance. SOLUTION: The fluid bearing device is provided with the bearing sleeve 2, and a rotary shaft 3 interfit with the bearing sleeve 2 and freely carrying out rotary motion. Lubricating fluid is filled in the bearing sleeve 2, and the thrust plate 10 supporting a lower end of the rotary shaft 3 is fixed to a lower end of the bearing sleeve 2 by caulking. When applying plating to the bearing sleeve 2, by thinning a plated film thickness of a caulking part 11 more than that of a bearing inner hole, and enhancing flexibility, cracking of the plated film of the caulking part 11 is prevented in a caulking fixing process of the thrust plate 10.
