A hydraulically actuated multi-disc clutch assembly includes a clutch drum, a clutch piston, a check valve, O-rings, a wavy spring, steel plates, friction discs, a stop ring, a friction hub, a return spring, a return spring seat, and a snap ring. The check valve is installed in the clutch piston. The clutch piston is positioned on the bottom of the clutch drum. The return spring is fixed on the spring seat. The wavy spring is located within a groove on the face of the clutch piston. The stop ring is secured into an annular groove on the clutch drum. The steel plates are joined to the clutch drum. The clutch assembly is mounted on a shaft. A gear is supported on a needle bearing. The clutch assembly has unique structure and is directly mounted in the crankcase of engine. The wavy spring provides cushion function during engage. The clutch piston can compensate clearance automatically.
