GENE ASSOCIATED WITH STRESS RESISTANCE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new gene taking part in an active oxygen-removing system in a cell; and to provide a recombinant plant having active oxygen stress-resistance imparted by introducing the new gene into the plant.

SOLUTION: A DNA encoding a protein newly isolated from tobacco and having a specific amino acid sequence, a DNA having a specified base sequence or analogues of these DNAs are used as the gene taking part in the active oxygen-removing system in the cell. The genes are introduced into the chromosomal DNA of the plant.
