<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant light diffusion plate which is less deformed by heat when a cold cathode ray tube is turned on. <P>SOLUTION: The heat-resistant light diffusion plate 10 is made by dispersing a light diffusion agent into a styrene type monomer-methacrylic acid copolymer. Styrene type monomer unit content of the styrene type monomer-methacrylic acid copolymer is usually 80 to 95 mol%. Thickness of the heat-resistant light diffusion plate is 1 to 3 mm. A multilayer light diffusion plate 10 made by laminating a UV absorbing layer 12 comprising transparent resin including a UV absorber onto the light diffusion plate 10 is also used. The backlight device 4 and a liquid crystal cell 3 which use the heat-resistant light diffusion plate 10 or the multilayer light diffusion plate 10 as a light diffusion plate 10 are provided on a direct type liquid crystal display 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
