<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motion guide unit which is more inexpensive than a conventional linear motion guide unit made of stainless steel, has a deep hardened layer and has a long life under lubricated conditions even in the presence of foreign matters. <P>SOLUTION: The linear motion guide unit has a linear motion guide rail made of martensitic stainless steel which comprises, by mass, 0.4-0.75% C, 0.1-1.0% Mn, 0.1-1.0% Si, 10.0-16.0% Cr,≤0.3% Ni and <0.20% N, and satisfies both of the relation (1): C%≤-0.05 Cr%+1.41 and the relation (2): 0.5%≤(C+N)%≤-(0.055 Cr%+0.030 Si%+0.108 Mn%+0.047 Ni%)+1.517, and has a retained austenite of 6-30 vol.% at a surface layer of a raceway groove. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
