PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step cleaning device for a passenger conveyor capable of facilitating transportation and storage owing to its miniaturization and moving the position of a brush to clean the whole surface of a step of any size. SOLUTION: This step cleaning device for the passenger conveyor is provided with a supporting body 2 fixed to a comb plate 1 and extending upward, a threaded rod 4 which is rotatably provided on the supporting body 2 and whose direction of axial line crosses the direction of advance of the step 3 orthogonally, a traveling body 5 screw-fitted into the threaded rod 4 and moving in the direction of axial line of the threaded rod 4 by rotation of the threaded rod 4, a handle 6 provided on the traveling body 5 and extending in the direction of advance of the step 3, and the brush 7 provided in a tip part of the handle 6 and coming into contact with the step 3.
