The cylindrical casing (20) has an ignition chamber (30) at one end, and a diffuser (40) with gas outlet at the other. Stainless steel diaphragms (38, 48) separate the igniter and diffuser from the gas-pressurized casing. On activation, a rod (24) in the cylindrical casing ruptures the second diaphragm, opening the channel to the diffuser. The rod has a base section contacting a wall near the first diaphragm. Its far end is united with a holder (50), located near the second blocking section. An independent claim is included for the method of assembly.
