The method involves effecting an additional air induction beside suction openings from an environment in such a manner that a suction stream is focused upon an emission source (1). The addition air induction is not effected between the suction openings in case of more suction openings and the coherent emission source. Volume flow of the additional air induction is distributed about the suction openings by the emission source that freely lies in an area. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for collecting air pollutant e.g. industrial exhaust.
