The engine has a crankshaft pivoted in a crank case (1). A framework (8) e.g. steel plate, along with an oil sump (7) e.g. cast oil sump, is screwed onto a flange surface (12). The framework extends to a gear box-front side (10) through a flange surface (12). The sump extends up to a level between the crank case and a gear box. The framework is operated when a carrier is laterally fixed to the engine.
