BURST TRANSMISSION METHOD IN OPTICAL BURST SWITCHING NETWORK

A burst transmission method in an optical burst switching network is provided to transmit congestion information to an ingress edge router during the transmission of a burst and transmit the burst by decreasing or increasing a burst transmission rate, thereby realizing the efficient optical burst switching network by minimizing a loss of the burst and supporting a high transmission rate. A burst transmission method in an optical burst switching network comprises the following steps of: calculating an traffic inflowing amount during congestion reaction delay in the center router of a burst transmission mode(412); determining the generation of congestion through the acquired traffic inflow amount(414); transmitting congestion information according to the determined generation of congestion to an ingress edge router(416); and transmitting the burst to the center router by controlling the burst transmission rate through the control of a burst size threshold value according to the transmitted congestion information(428).
