摘要 An apparatus and a method for decoding audio data are provided to improve performance of a decoder by reducing a calculation quantity generated in the arithmetic decoding of an audio signal in bit sliced arithmetic coding. An apparatus for decoding audio data includes a bit plane decoding unit(100), and a calculating unit(110). The bit plane decoding unit(100) decodes additional information classified by layers, and acquires real importance values of symbols included in each layer. The bit plane decoding unit(100) acquires quantization samples by performing decoding of a coding band unit according to a sequence from the symbols having the uppermost bits to the symbols having the lowest bits based on the maximum importance value by classified by layers. The calculation unit(110) forms a search tree of the coding band unit by binding the real importance values with the coding band unit. The calculation unit(110) calculates the maximum importance value classified by layers based on the importance search tree.
