<p>An optical pickup control apparatus including a pickup unit to apply an optical signal to an optical disc, to receive an optical signal from the optical disc, and to convert the optical signal into an electric signal; a collimating lens in the pickup unit to correct a spherical aberration of the optical signal; a detecting unit to detect an opening/closing operation of a tray on which the optical disc is placed, and to output a corresponding detection signal; a first controller to perform a first initialization process that causes the pickup unit to move to a first initial location upon receiving the detection signal; and a second controller to perform a second initialization process that causes the collimating lens to move to a second initial location upon receiving the detection signal, wherein the first and second initialization processes are simultaneous.</p> |
