An integrated circuit and a method for driving a display device including a memory with a DRAM structure are provided to connect a scan register and data read from an activated cell block by selectively turning on and off a switching element corresponding to the activated cell block. An integrated circuit for driving a display device including a memory with a DRAM structure includes a memory(210), a scan register(230), a source driver(240), and a switching unit(220). The memory having a DRAM(Dynamic Random Access Memory) structure stores data for driving a panel and includes at least one cell blocks. The scan register receives data from the memory, latches the data, and outputs the latched data. The source driver receives the data from the scan register and outputs the data to the panel. The switching unit is selectively turned on and off corresponding to an activated cell block when the data is read from the memory, and controls a connection between data from the activated cell block and the scan register.
