A display device is provided to reduce light leakage and improve a contrast ratio by moving a pair of polarizers that have a plurality of absorption axes with different absorption coefficients and are stacked in a parallel nicol state such that they deviate from a crosses nicol state. A first light transmitting substrate and a second light transmitting substrate face each other. A display device is formed between the first light transmitting substrate and the second light transmitting substrate. A first layer(103) includes a first polarizer formed outside the first transmitting substrate. A second layer(104) includes a second polarizer formed outside the second transmitting substrate. The first and second polarizers have a wavelength distribution of an absorption coefficient for an absorption axis different from each other. The absorption axis of the first polarizer is disposed in a parallel nicol state. The absorption axis of the second polarizer is disposed in a parallel nicol state. The absorption axes of the first and second polarizers deviate from a crossed nicol state.
