Process for Reducing the Formaldehyde Emission of Wood Materials

Procedure for reduction of the formaldehyde emission from wood material comprises applying a nitrogenous compound, preferably a mixture comprising at least a polyamine and optionally urea of up to 20 wt.%, on the wood material. An independent claim is included for a wood material, which additionally has improved surface, obtained by the above process.
