A device and a method for performing wireless communication in a refrigerator are provided to enable a user to easily check diagnosis or state information of the refrigerator through a mobile terminal, and share user information between the refrigerator and the mobile terminal. An input part(10) receives the information and a storing part(14) stores the information received through the input part. A Bluetooth module(19) satisfies Bluetooth specification, and transmits the information stored in the storing part to the mobile terminal or receives the information transmitted from the mobile terminal. A microcomputer(15) transmits the information to the mobile terminal if the mobile terminal requests the information or processes the information received from the mobile terminal. The information includes the user information inputted from the user, and error and state information of the refrigerator.
