PURPOSE:To prevent a substrate from being fused to an exothermic resistor, which might otherwise take place during the high speed recording operation, by forming a metal thin layer on the opposite side of the ink layer of the plastic film substrate thereby to form a head-sensitive transfer sheet. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 12, which is made of a film of plastics such as Myler, is formed at its one side with such an ink layer 13 as is melted by the heating operation and at its other side with a metal layer 14 made of metal such as aluminum and having a thickness lower than 1000Angstrom . The heat-sensitive transfer sheet 11 thus formed is used so that its ink layer side 13 is overlapped in cotact with recording paper (or normal paper) 16 between the exothermic resistor 15 and a platen 17. While the sheet 11 and the paper 16 are being made to run to the right, electric signals corresponding to the information are fed to the resistor 15 so that the ink layer 13 is melted by the resultant Joule heat to transfer the ink to the paper 16 so that the image is formed on the recording paper. |
