<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device performing fuel injection control by operating fuel injection device provided with a decompression valve and appropriately diagnosing existence of irregularity of the decompression valve. <P>SOLUTION: Existence of irregularity of the decompression valve is temporarily diagnosed (step S14) based on behavior of fuel pressure in a common rail when the decompression valve is operated after an ignition switch is turned off (step S10: YES). Then, it is determined that a fuel pressure sensor is normal (step S30) if it is determined that fuel pressure detected by the fuel pressure sensor is near atmospheric pressure after a predetermined time elapses (step S28: YES).
