<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column support structure capable of positively regulating movement of a column bracket relative to a vehicle body bracket toward the front of a vehicle in the event of a vehicle collision. <P>SOLUTION: In this steering column support structure, a column bracket 31 attached to the steering column for rotatably holding a steering wheel equipped with an airbag system is connected and supported to a vehicle body bracket 91 attached to a vehicle body in a movable and detachable manner toward the front of the vehicle using a connecting mechanism A.
