<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of easily performing maintenance of cleaning a filter. <P>SOLUTION: A U-shaped moving passage A for moving the filter 9 is formed in a space defined at a front upper side of an indoor heat exchanger 2 in a casing 4. The U-shaped moving passage A is composed of a guide means 10, and both end sides of the filter 9 are held by the guide means 10. A driving means 11 is mounted inside of the U-shaped moving passage A, and the filter 9 is reciprocated in the longitudinal direction.
