NF-kappaB INHIBITOR AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an NF-κB inhibitor having strong effect to inhibit the activation of NF-κB and nevertheless expectable to exhibit reduced side action.

SOLUTION: The NF-κB inhibitor contains noraristeromycin (NAM) or its pharmacologically permissible salt as an active component and selectively inhibits IKKα. The NF-κB inhibitor can be used as a component of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of diseases in which the activation of NF-κB participates. The NF-κB inhibitor preferably has an IC50of≤1μM to IKKαactivity and an IC50of≥10μM to IKKβactivity.
