PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable simplification of wiring, etc. for driving a piezoelectric element without impeding formation of a high image quality and speed-up. SOLUTION: In the liquid droplet ejector, a matrix driving circuit 70 has m×n (4×3) piezoelectric elements Pz<SB>ij</SB>connected in matrix. A gate switch 74 is connected to each piezoelectric element Pz<SB>ij</SB>. A column control signal L<SB>j</SB>which turns on and off the gate switches is input in units of columns. A row signal R<SB>i</SB>changed over to an application state of a voltage V<SB>1</SB>, a GND state and an open state is input to the piezoelectric elements in units of rows. Charging, holding of a charged state, and discharging can be carried out for each piezoelectric element. The piezoelectric element can be driven while a terminal voltage of the piezoelectric element is made equivalent to when a driving waveform changing to 0 v-voltage V<SB>1</SB>-0 v is applied.
