PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive unit which can simply and highly precisely adjust a height position of a spindle motor for a drive chassis. SOLUTION: The height position of the spindle motor 2 for the drive chassis 1 can be adjusted by forming a female screw part 6a at an inner wall plane of a motor attaching hole 6 provided in the drive chassis 1, while forming a male screw part 7c at an outer wall plane of a mount member 7 screwed to this motor attaching hole 6, and moving forward and backward spirally the mount member 7 to which the spindle motor 2 is held and fixed during assembly for the motor attaching hole 6, and the mount member 7 is stuck and fixed to the drive chassis 1 after finish of the above adjustment. Also, a bottom plane 5c of a sliding member 5 provided at a bottom part of the spindle motor 2 is plane-contacted to a guide plane 7a of the mount member 7, attachment attitude of the spindle motor 2 on the mount member 7 during assembly can be adjusted by sliding the sliding member 5 along the guide plane 7a, thus the sliding member 5 is stuck and fixed to the mount member 7 after finish of the adjustment.
