PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake control system for a vehicle capable of balancing a positive controlling property of the vehicle by an intention of a driver and braking performance by devising it so that independent braking of either of front and rear wheels and interlocked braking by CBS can be properly changed in accordance with a travelling state of the vehicle. SOLUTION: Brake systems for the front wheel and the rear wheel are provided so that brake calipers 4 for the front and rear wheels can be independently operated by their respective special brake operation parts 2. A hydraulic modulator 6 free to supply braking force to the brake caliper 4 on the front wheel side is provided on the brake system for the front wheel. A controller 20 actuates the hydraulic modulator 6 on the front wheel side and starts braking of the front wheel when a slip ratio of the rear wheel exceeds a threshold value in rear wheel braking operation.
